“It was a great opportunity to enhance the wise and conservative use of resources.”
– Don and Peggy Brown, Farm Owners
How did they do it?
After decades of farming in Colorado, the Brown’s wondered if a variable frequency drive (VFD) might help save energy while rotating crops with variable harvests. They connected with a CEO AgEE Program energy auditor and received a free energy audit that evaluated their operation and identified many savings opportunities.
What was the outcome?
With the help of the CEO AgEE program, the Brown’s Farm have been able to lower their energy bills by installing a high efficiency 300 horsepower irrigation pump motor and a VFD.
“It’s certainly allowed us to do a better job of conserving not only energy but water as well,” explained Don.
